Mr and Mrs Berber

We have friends and family over on the weekend when I grill and the main course is steaks. The ones I really enjoy are T-Bone and Strip Steaks. I usually get my T-Bones from HEB, grocery store in Texas, and my Strips from either Randalls or Kroger. You can find them reasonably priced sometimes, I guess since we have a lot of cows in Texas.

They had a blog in Yahoo’s Homepage that was talking about how to cook them and how to season them. One thing the blog and my sister’s boyfriend mentioned was to put some soy sauce on the steak. WOW was that D-lecious. I got everyone to put some on theirs and they liked it as well.

Well I finally had my first ATV accident. It was not pretty. I was already done riding and was heading back home, when I rolled it over. I was coming up an incline by the bayou and I was almost at the top when it turned off. I started to go backwards and turned, that caused it to roll over. The worst part is that I had my 6 1/2 year old son with me. We were both ok. When i rolled it over I grab him with one arm and broke the landing with my other. He just had a few scratches. I was thinking of a way i could have avoided the roll. I thought about if I had pressed the rear brake, the ATV would have probably lifted from the front and flipped due to the weight on the rear. I tried the front brakes but they were not strong enough or I might need to adjust them. Well the important thing is that my little one didn’t get seriously hurt… and we had fun prior to that. I will take my camera next time and take some shot and videos. See ya!

Hello again. I was so tired after work yesterday, that when I got home I went to sleep for about 2 hrs. When i woke up the sun was still out and so i took my ATV for a little ride. There is a big bayou behind our neighborhood and there is always someone out there either on a dirt bike or an ATV. Its kind of boring when you are by your self, so after a few minutes i headed back home.

My wife’s co-workers were planning on going to see Hungover, and invited us. We went to the 10:51 showing because some of the guys had to close the store and could not get home earlier. I thought the movie was pretty funny. I would definitely recommend it. By the time the movie was finished it was about midnight, then we all headed to a restaurant nearby called Chachos. We used to go there a lot but we moved further out of the city. A Lot has changed at that restaurant. The food has tasted better in the past and the margaritas were much, much bigger. But when you are around good friends you still have fun! We didn’t get home until 2 am and i had to work today!

We had a great time on Memorial Day. Had family and friends over at my house, and plenty to drink and eat. Then we went out to the bayou behind my neighborhood to ride our ATVs. Well after all that fun, the day after Memorial Day I was not feeling to good. Stomach was hurting and since I shaved my head and I was outside all day, I got a sunburn on my head. I got some funny pics of me shaving my head that I will post later.

Something else I wanted to share with you. I knew I needed a brake job on my truck. So I was calling around a few local brake shops and it was just so expensive. So I called the Auto Zone near I 10 and Fry Rd. The total was less than half of what the other guys wanted , so i decided to do it myself. I went and bought the rotors and brake pads for the front. I didnt think much about it, but when she brought out the boxes for the rotors they were beat up and looked used. I just thought maybe they reuse the boxes for the rotors. This was my first time changing out rotors. I had never seen new rotors before. They ran fine for a few days after i changed them out but then the grinding began. I took them off and put them back on thinking I had missed something, but it was the same. Then I took it to Brake Check on Grand parkway and Kingsland. They were so nice and the prices were lower than other brake shops. Plus you get lifetime warranty on most of the items. They checked my brakes and said it was the bearings in the rotor to take them back since I had a warranty. They were very courteous and did not charge me to check it. Sure enough I come to find out I was sold USED rotors. This wasted a lot of my time and gave me several headaches. Although this was a big headache and probably over looked by Auto Zone, I learned very much from this experience.
